Coppull Parish Church School

In 2007 Coppull Parish Church School took the Rainforest as their theme as a part of their 'Ourselves and the Environment' school topic. In total they raised a whopping £715 for us.

They came up with some really fun ways of learning more about the Rainforest including rainforest classroom displays and a global warming scenario debate. On the last day of the topic a school 'Rainforest Day' was held on 7th December, for which the children came up with the idea of a toy sale and concert.

Here you can see children from year 5 and 6 having a rainforest dance-a-thon. This fundraising idea was suggested by the children as a way of raising more money to save the rainforest!

Thank you very much Coppull Parish Church School.

Learning about the rainforest and how important it is made Year 4 want to do something to protect it. They made their own rainforest game, played pin the nose on the tapir, and sold biscuits at break time. Their hard work raised the fantastic amount of £226.00 towards our protect an acre scheme!

A group of girls from Class 5 held a yummy cake sale and raised £100 for the Rainforest Foundation - a fantastic amount and a great way to raise funds whilst telling people how important rainforest are!

Freya Howison, 9, first became interested in rainforests "because they've got so many animals and they are a really fascinating place to learn about."

Freya created her own special book about rainforests where she describes the plight of the people, plants and animals, and includes chapters on "What are the threats to the rainforest and how can we help the rainforest?"

Freya says she likes the Rainforest Foundation UK "because they do a lot to help the rainforests and I like helping the rainforests." She hopes that by showing her book to people she can spread this message. She also recently sent the contents of her piggy bank to RFUK to help towards its project of mapping the Congo basin.

I like the Rainforest Foundation UK for many reasons but one of them is that they are doing their utmost to stop the carve-up of the Congo rainforest.

Loggers do not think about human resources. People live in rainforests - their one and only home is in the depths of nature. If we lose trees, plants die, then animals die, and then eventually we die. Hopefully one day the loggers will stop their cruelty to nature.

By supporting the Rainforest Foundation, you can help people save their forest homes, and you can also find out some great facts, and play some fun games.
